データサイエンス分野

分野の紹介

当分野は、歯科医学を基軸に、統計学、疫学、情報科学を融合したデータサイエンスを基盤として、歯科医学・健康科学分野におけるリアルワールドデータの解析と、エビデンスに基づく医療政策・健康政策の推進に資する研究を展開しています。

具体的には、レセプトデータ、健診データ、介護保険データ、地域コホートなどのリアルワールドデータを活用し、高度な統計解析、因果推論、機械学習等の手法を用い、口腔疾患の疾病負担・経済負担を定量化するとともに、医療サービスや歯科保健施策の有効性、費用対効果、医療資源の適正配分などを評価するヘルスサービスリサーチを推進しています。

さらに、学内外の研究者、医療機関、自治体、行政、企業との分野横断的な共同研究を推進し、研究成果を政策や臨床現場へ還元する実装型研究を展開することで、歯科医学の社会的価値の向上と健康寿命の延伸に貢献することを目指しています。
