分野の紹介

当分野では、融合知教育による口腔科学を広く学際的に俯瞰できる人材養成を視野に入れ、異分野融合研究、産官学民連携研究を基軸としたトランスレーショナルリサーチおよびレギュラトリーサイエンスに関する研究に取り組んでいます。

具体的には、異分野融合研究により、ニッケルフリー形状記憶合金、生体吸収性金属ガラス、可視光応答性酸化チタンなど最先端医療用材料を開発し、様々な革新的な医療機器・材料へ応用しています。加えて、独立行政法人医薬品医療機器総合機構(PMDA)など規制当局との連携により、各種医療機器・材料に関する国際・国内ガイドラインの策定などレギュラトリーサイエンスに関する研究にも取り組んでいます。

当分野は、医工学研究科において協力講座として「先進歯科医工学分野」を運営しており、歯学部出身者だけでなく、工学、医学、薬学、文学など多様な背景を持つスタッフや学生が在籍し、異分野融合研究、産官学民連携研究を推進しています。
