Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of Tohoku University Graduate School of Dentistry, we are delighted to apprise you of International Symposium for Interface Oral Health Science 2022, which will be held on January 15-16, 2022. Due to the continued concerns relating to the COVID-19 pandemic on health, safety, travel restrictions and quarantine requirements, the Organizing Committee have decided to hold our symposium virtually. We hope the virtual format would allow our participants to view the presentations and interact online regardless of location.
“Interface Oral Health Science” is the advanced concept in dentistry, established by Tohoku University Graduate School of Dentistry in 2002. This concept is shared not only by dentistry and oral medicine but also by a variety of disciplines, including medicine, agriculture, material science, engineering, and pharmacology. Since 2002, Tohoku University Graduate School of Dentistry started to consider “Interface Oral Health Science” as the main theme of dental research and education in the 21st century. For the application of this concept to the life innovation and its realization, globalization in the research and education of oral health science, as well as the improvement of clinical dentistry, is one of the most promising ways. It is a great pleasure for us to hold this 9th symposium in the year of the 20th anniversary of the launch of this concept.
This symposium will have the keynote sessions inviting the distinguished guests from all over the world, the young researchers invited lecture, and the poster sessions for all of colleagues who are interested in the research and education of oral health science. We earnestly hope that this symposium will lead not only dentistry but also a wide range of related disciplines for the next generation and provide opportunities for advanced research and education.
