May. 22, 2020

Tohoku University Graduate School of Dentistry held a ceremony on May 22 to express their heartfelt gratitude to Chinese partner universities and alumni who donated face masks. The total number of the donated masks accounted for 20,200.

Dean, Nobuhiro Takahashi; General Vice-Director of University Hospital, Kaoru Igarashi; Administrative Manager, Akira Abe; and other faculty members attended the ceremony.

Concerned about the serious shortage of face masks in Japan, alumni and voluntary members in Dalian Stomatology Hospital; Professor LIN Hong and Associate Professor HAN Jian-Min, Dental Medical Devices Testing Center of Peking University School of Stomatology; and Director Chen Jiang, The Affiliated Stomatological Hospital of Fujian Medical University donated the masks to the Japanese partner university.

Preceding the ceremony, the administration of the graduate school had an online meeting with the three Chinese parties. Professor Takahashi and Professor Igarashi appreciated their donations, and introduced the school’s measures against COVID-19. The outlook for their further cooperation was also discussed at the meeting.

The Graduate School of Dentistry deeply appreciates the Chinese partners’ support, and the donated masks are being distributed to the members of the Dentistry.
