Ms. LAI DANYE, a Ph.D. student in the Department of International Collaborative and Innovative Dentistry, Wins Award at International Symposium

Aug. 25, 2026
On August 18–19, 2026, at the 2026 TU-HKU-FJMU International Symposium on Oral Health Sciences held in Fuzhou, China, Ms. LAI DANYE, a doctoral student in the Division of Innovative Dentistry for International Collaboration, received the Outstanding Presentation Award.
Ms. LAI presented her research on developing a caffeic acid-incorporated hydrogel platform for periodontal tissue regeneration. Her work was highly recognized for its originality and academic novelty, leading to this award. This recognition is expected to further encourage the continued development of her research.
A highlight of this year’s program was the heartfelt reunion with students from the partner institutions who had visited Tohoku University for a short-term program earlier in February. These host students, who had previously experienced life in Sendai, welcomed our students warmly, guiding them through their cities and sharing meals together. This "bidirectional exchange" significantly enhanced student satisfaction and further strengthened the bonds between Tohoku University and the CA+inD partner institutions.
This award not only demonstrates the high standard of research at the Graduate School of Dentistry but also represents one of the achievements resulting from the ongoing international collaboration and joint research among Tohoku University, The University of Hong Kong, and Fujian Medical University. It is expected to further promote research exchange and strengthen international collaborative activities among the three institutions.
