FY2025 CA+inD Winter Overseas Short-term Study Program.

Apr. 13, 2026
The Tohoku University Graduate School of Dentistry conducted the "FY2025 CA+inD Winter Overseas Short-term Study Program" for three weeks, from March 1 (Sun.) to March 21 (Sat.), 2026.

This program is part of the "CAMPUS Asia Plus Program," a project supported by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT). Its mission is to nurture "multimodal global leaders"—individuals capable of strategically selecting and utilizing knowledge and skills acquired through diverse perspectives in the fields of education, research, healthcare, industry, and administration.
Dispatch to 7 Universities Across 3 Asian Countries
A total of eight undergraduate students (three 3rd-year and five 4th-year students) participated in this year's program. The participants were divided into three teams and dispatched to seven prestigious partner universities in Thailand, Indonesia, and Taiwan:
  • Thailand: Chiang Mai University, Chulalongkorn University
  • Indonesia: Universitas Indonesia, Universitas Airlangga
  • Taiwan: Kaohsiung Medical University, National Taiwan University, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University
During the three-week stay, students engaged in a variety of activities, including attending lectures by local faculty, observing clinical practices at university hospitals, and participating in diverse cultural exchange programs.
Deepening Bonds Through Reciprocal Exchange
A highlight of this year’s program was the heartfelt reunion with students from the partner institutions who had visited Tohoku University for a short-term program earlier in February. These host students, who had previously experienced life in Sendai, welcomed our students warmly, guiding them through their cities and sharing meals together. This "bidirectional exchange" significantly enhanced student satisfaction and further strengthened the bonds between Tohoku University and the CA+inD partner institutions.
Debriefing Session: Inspiring the Next Challenge
On March 30(Mon.), a debriefing session was held in the Student Lounge of the Graduate School of Dentistry. Students presented their experiences in groups based on their destinations. By sharing insights from different countries, the participants not only deepened their own learning but also expressed a strong desire to take on future international challenges.

The Tohoku University Graduate School of Dentistry remains committed to fostering dental professionals with a global perspective and the skills to lead in an international environment.
