1st Trans-Pacific Dental Research Symposium — A Milestone Achieved

Nov. 28, 2025
On November 27, we successfully hosted the 1st Trans-Pacific Dental Research Symposium between Tohoku University Graduate School of Dentistry (Japan) and the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile – School of Dentistry. It was an inspiring and historic event!
With outstanding presentations from researchers in both Japan and Chile, covering topics such as periodontal tissue regeneration, oral microbiome metabolites, orofacial pain research, and dentinal glycation mechanisms; this symposium showcased the strength of international collaboration and the shared commitment to advancing dental science.
This first edition marks the beginning of a long-term partnership built on academic excellence, student exchange, and impactful research across the Pacific. We are confident that this will be the first of many collaborative academic activities between our institutions.
A sincere thank you to all speakers, session chairs, organizers, and participants who made this event possible.
Let’s continue building bridges, creating knowledge, and shaping the future of global dentistry—together.
