Tohoku University Strengthens Ties with UPCD

From February 27 to March 1, 2025, Vice-Dean Prof. Guang Hong led a delegation from Tohoku University Graduate School of Dentistry to the University of the Philippines College of Dentistry (UPCD) in Manila, fostering academic collaboration and knowledge exchange.
A key outcome was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to promote joint research, academic exchange, and faculty and student collaborations. The delegation also toured UPCD’s facilities and presented an overview of Tohoku University’s dental programs, emphasizing research and international education.
The team introduced Tohoku University’s Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) and Japan Virtual Campus (JV-Campus), designed to provide accessible, high-quality dental education globally. Discussions on future collaborations, including joint research and faculty development, highlighted both institutions' commitment to advancing dental education and research.
This successful visit reinforces Tohoku University’s dedication to expanding global academic partnerships and marks the beginning of a promising alliance with UPCD.
