Dimas Prasetianto Wicaksono

Hi…, my name is Dimas Prasetianto Wicaksono from Indonesia and I am one of the alumni of Tohoku University Graduate School of Dentistry in Oral Ecology and Biochemistry division. I received the valuable opportunity to study in Tohoku University due to the collaboration with my University in Indonesia (Universitas Airlangga). From the experience of my senior colleague, Tohoku University Graduate School of Dentistry has a great mentor, comprehensive facilities that support various kinds of researches, and having some opportunity to increase our knowledge via seminars, intense discussion, even participate in the conference. 

That’s why I chose Tohoku University. At that time, I did a lot of experiments related to my topics research. Failure on researches often occurred, however a positive atmosphere in my lab, my classmate, my mentor, my supervisor always support me anywhere and anytime, then it gave me the courage to face the problem and that’s why I always do my best in my life.

I got a lot of opportunities to join and present my research results in the international conference in almost all areas in Japan, even in Canada. Those opportunities enhanced my academic and critical thinking, especially about dental researches. Many researchers join in those conferences, then we share our opinion and make the collaboration.

Moreover, Sendai is a beautiful city, a quiet place, with various kinds of tourist attractions, delicious food and it can relief my stress while working in the lab. All of my experiences in Tohoku University, Sendai create me to be hard work and a deep critical thinking man. Thank you very much Tohoku University.
